I like that Grant Thornton can take a company and look at their whole picture, not one specific aspect of their business. They are not pushy and you can go into any meeting you have with a Grant Thornton rep and they are open to your ideas regardless of whether they are their business. I dislike that Grant Thornton can be a costly firm (sometimes) and also that some of their reps are out of date on certain aspects. They do a good job at looking at the whole picture and not cherry picking the aspects of the business to make it look like they are doing a good job. The best decision we made was to use Grant Thornton to audit our company's financial statements. At one point, the company had some problems and they realized we had good revenue, but our margins were low. They recommended we lower our price to increase volume. The expertise of their audit team in particular has been excellent for our organization and we have benefited from it greatly. They do not offer any "soft" services (i.e., HR consulting). Their focus seems very much on financial matters at times which can be somewhat frustrating but overall I think they are good people with sound business practices who care about doing things right by clients.
