This is a GREAT thread, but there are a few important things to know before you buy! , but that's probably because you're used to winding 8m/24ft shafts! It is 40 m / 131 ft long, so much larger than a regular coil. If you want to wind it on regular embroidery bobbins, you need to separate them. I went ahead and bought some very long ones to wrap whole as they should be. None of my threads snapped (were knotted anywhere along the line), but with a thread that long, expect that to happen. then start winding it onto the spool! This way you can thread your way through the loading space if you have problems and there is no huge chaos at the end. ** Great for embroidery and sashiko, bad for cross-stitch ** This is a great thread for embroidery and sashiko, but if you want to use this thread for cross-stitch on very delicate work, you may have bad times ahead. It's a chunky strand, and while it's not mercerized (which means you can part the strands), I wouldn't cut it down to less than three strands. If you use one thread it's more likely to break, but with two you'll get stress fractures where one thread breaks and the other continues. Additionally, this is a GREAT thread, especially as an accent thread. You get so much of it compared to other brands and it's very beginner friendly as long as you don't try to break it down too finely.
