This suit is a stretchy swimsuit material. It is adjustable by velcro for easy on/off. There is a tail hole but it covers the genital area. It can be folded and adjusted with the velcro to leave that area open for "bathroom” use. I am including pics of the suit on with full coverage and folded up to expose the genital area. The Small size fits my 9 pound Havanese loosely and my 14 pound Schnauzer snugly. I have not needed to use it for post-op yet. I think its effectiveness would depend a lot on the location of the surgery. It does not cover the legs or neck. I think a determined dog would chew through the fabric, or if it fits loosely, push the fabric aside. The quality is very good. I think this suit would work well for its intended purpose, with common-sense limitations.
