Very pretty but a bit small

I was looking for a warm raincoat for my little 6 year old. I bought 7/8 based on other reviews but it's a bit big. I think it's a bit small but probably not full size. It is fleece lined on the body but not on the hands. There are zippered side pockets for gloves or hands. And an inner chest pocket with velcro but it's a bit small and I'm not sure what it can be used for. I like that the hood is sewn on. My son has a detachable hood on the raincoat but it doesn't hold up very well. I love that there is a collar to keep his neck warm and a velcro closure on the hood to keep him warm. Two places I wish were different. I wish the pockets were fleece lined but they aren't. This is one of those times when you want warmth. If your hands are cold, putting them in nylon bags is not as warm as putting them in fleece bags. Second, Velcro is attached to shirts, gloves or a scarf. I would have liked a thinner Velcro that doesn't get caught on the fleece.

Pros
  • My son loves it and it's waterproof so it's a win.
Cons
  • Limited color options available
