Review on ๐Ÿ  Seapora 4040 Filter Floss Aquarium Filter Pad: Enhanced 10 sq. ft. Size, 12x120 Inches by Carla Gallegos

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Makes water very clear. Really good media. One of my favorite filter threads.

This filter thread does a great job of keeping the water crystal clear for my fish. So you can see how it looks before and how it looks after in the picture I showed you. It just collects everything. It is thick but not tightly woven. Maybe something like a soft cheap pillow. It really collects a lot of things and as soon as it turns brown I change it. I put a thick koi pond strainer at the bottom for support because it's heavy and stays strong at the bottom. Then I put a classic filter - blue-white or pink-white. Then I'll put in a 50 micron polishing pad. Then I put about 4 inch filter threads on all this filter material. The filter floss catches pretty much all the dirt and fine particles so when it hits the buffing pad there really isn't much left. This keeps everything under the polishing pad absolutely clean and I almost never have to change it. I keep changing this filter thread because it really catches everything. And my Micron seal actually lasts a lot longer with it. I tried using it in one of the rear filters on a 75 gallon tank and it didn't seem to hold up very well because it was too soft so just like a big blob of filter and dirt because as I said it nice is like a cheap pillowcase inside. It doesn't hold its shape. But that's an advantage for me, because that's exactly what I want. I want something that will pick up all the dirt and flow into the filter. I always have a lot of these on hand. I have three 10,000 gallon Oasis filters. Sometimes I just can't clean them all at once, so when I feel something going up, I stick some of that filter thread in and it collects whatever comes up. So I use it for all sorts of situations. But that's what I keep buying. I recommend it for external filters. I don't recommend hanging it on the back of the tank filters. It doesn't work, and then when you pull it out, it just lets the goosebumps fall back in, and it's all in your tank. The little particles floating around where they don't get that filter media will clean everything. You can also tear it apart without scissors. This way you can get the right piece without cutting it, it's not perfectly flat of course, but that doesn't matter.
