Excellent surround sound speakers; Cheesy Wall Brackets

I bought these speakers to use as surround speakers instead of the satellite speakers that came with my original 5.1 speaker system so I could use them as front presence speakers with Dolby Atmos can. AV receiver. Running a test signal from the receiver they seem to have a fairly similar sound quality to that of the satellites and they seem to sound very good for that purpose having tested the Star Wars opening scene. Episode 6: Revenge of the Sith. I've also tested them by just playing music through them and they sounded very clean with no distortion, but being new I didn't wind them up as I want to give them time to break in. For the price they are great. Value. They're also small and unobtrusive, unlike black or dark gray speakers. I only have two issues with this package, none of which are apparent in the images provided and do not affect speaker performance or sound quality.: 1) Speakers do not use a standard 1/4" threaded mount. Instead, they have a T-channel that slides over the included wall mount. If the included wall mount fails for any reason, you can't just buy a standard mount to replace it. . The supplied wall bracket is made of flexible plastic and only pays for itself over time. I don't see why they wouldn't use the industry standard mount. I doubt it's a significant cost savings and I'd happily pay a little more to have one. 2) Despite the hemispherical appearance, the mounts don't rotate, so you can adjust the direction of the speakers, you can't even rotate them, a sort of design choice, especially since they're in two parts. , but it is not necessary to install the speaker. I can only assume that the screw is there to provide some flexural strength. Despite these issues, I still think it deserves 5 stars overall.
