I have not tried any cheaper pressure testers to compare to this rather expensive tester. But as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for, there was no way I wanted to save a few bucks to end up with a fuel leak and a fire! So this is one of those cases where the risk is too high to save money. Aside from this pressure gauge not having any leaks, a couple of shortcomings give it a 5 star rating. The dial is big, the printed numbers are big, the rubber hose is long and the Ford quick connector fits perfectly (no leaks at the Schrader connector) so you can attach it directly to your windshield when you start your car to do this check over . your rail pressure. This is useful when troubleshooting a starting problem due to lack of fuel. Of course, you won't use this tool as often as other tools, but if you do, you'll be thankful you didn't save a few bucks to end up with fire on hand.
