We almost didn't get them for our hike the Pacific Crest Trail. We planned to use the really good water bottles our daughter bought us, but found the ones in the side pockets of our backpacks difficult to access. It was easy to cut the line, insert it, and then turn off the bite valve. on our camel tanks for the adapter. Just hold up the snorkel to prevent water from entering the backpack! I've only made that mistake once! eWe have filled our tanks several times over the course of almost a week of collecting natural water and the connection has worked perfectly every time. We will keep them for a long time! I'm so glad we did because it meant we didn't take our bladders out of our backpacks, had to fill them (wet them) and they tried to wet them. BACK to our backpacks with everything else! We used bottled water when needed but it made a world of difference! Would I buy again? When these things wear out, I will definitely buy more!
