I've been using these for a few years now and they are amazing. They don't have that musty or slimy smell that some sponges have. They are very effective at cleaning hard, sticky foods with the scouring side and delicate non-stick surfaces with the soft side. I was going through a lean period and decided to try cutting it in half. It worked great! They don't tear or fall apart, and the size is comfortable for my hand. The one I'm using now lasted two years. yes, two years I find that pretty amazing. I have not used any other sponges that claim to be mold resistant as I have had no reason to change them so I cannot compare them to similar products. Longevity Tricks I used to use my fingers to remove most stuck food. so that the sponge does not spoil from the food. I think this helps them last longer and also I don't have to clean the sponge after washing dishes or pots/pans. If I ever suspect the sponge isn't smelling as good as new, I use a very dilute solution. Bleach and water, which I often fill the sink with to wash my kitchen towels and give the sponge a few spritzes.
