Rowenta vs. Black and Decker IR3010

This review compares the advanced BLACK+DECKER IMPACT Steam Iron IR3010 to the Rowenta DW5080 Focus 1700W Stainless Steel Micro Steam Iron with Auto Shut-Off, 400 Holes, Brown. Basically both are good irons and I think you would be happy with either. Rowenta currently costs about $20 more than Black and Decker, but it also has a few things that make it a little bit better. The size and shape of the actual iron surface is about the same for everyone. The B&D has a slightly more pronounced nose. Controls: I like the Rowenta better, I tend to accidentally move the steam button on the B&D. However, both are intuitive and easy to use. I prefer the top mounted Rowenta water spray button over the bottom mounted B&D button, but both work well. Power: B&D has 1500W, Rowenta 1700. It seems to me that Rowenta gives more vapor at full temperature and full steam, but the steam boost seems about the same on both - Rowenta has a self-cleaning function, B&D doesn't seem to use Rowenta enough, to understand if it matters - the cord on both is strong and the same length - fill with water. Works about the same on both, no complaints. looks like the Rowenta could use a little more power - looks. I don't really care what the iron looks like but both look good on irons - Rowenta has way more steam holes than the B&D which might explain what I think is the higher steam output on this model, I give both five stars. These are both good irons that feel solid, work well and have about the same specs. I like the Rowenta a bit better for the reasons mentioned above, but it also costs more. Probably the biggest factor is durability, but I've only had it for about a month so remains to be seen.
