Most are very soft - much softer than any sculpted line. They're easy to work with, but they don't hold their shape as rigidly as the molded options. I'd say it's good to have a little experience with prettier, more durable clay before using them, because someone not used to polymer clay may find them difficult to keep smooth and tough. For some reason, one of the pink flowers just melts in the oven, but only one color. I'm not really sure what to do with this because I haven't allowed my students to use any supplements. Overall I'm happy with it and as a teacher I really can't complain about the value for money.
