Great drone. He flew fault-free all two months of the flight. The range wasn't advertised like the long shot. In completely open areas, I was able to get a maximum of half a mile before losing signal from the remote. I was planning on getting a smart controller that said it would increase the range to around 9 miles (I think) but as the original range was much less than advertised I was very disappointed. 3 times before the crash that disabled the drone, the auto-landing function failed and I had to switch to manual control at the last second to avoid the crash. On the descent, he almost crashed into a tree. As far as I know, dodge sensors are always enabled by default unless manually disabled through the app. There is a small icon on the controller that shows if the evasion sensors are activated and working properly. Most of the time they worked as they should. However, during a short flight just 30 feet from my line of sight, the evasion sensors failed or were disabled by default with an update, and the drone crashed into a tree. I tried to take manual control when I saw that the autoland worked without the evasion sensors, but the drone didn't respond. He then crashed into a tree and fell free from a height of 20 feet. When it fell, the hinge of one of the folding arms broke. Luckily the 8k camera seems to save, but part of the stabilizer is broken. I've been flying various airplanes for over 20 years (from the age of 15) and have had some critical situations but never crashed. I've never had to repair a drone before, but hopefully Autel will help me with a repair or replacement. The most important thing is the dodge sensors and why they suddenly stopped working.
