So I tried it on my Windows machine first and wasn't impressed with the speed at first. After testing various other drives and flash drives, I've found them to be just as good as the best. So the limitation is my laptop hardware. But then I connected it to my Mac and the speed was no slower than my internal hard drive. I backed up a gigantic multi-gigabyte virtual machine almost immediately. I almost feel guilty that my internal hard drive is lagging behind where I now prefer to store files. If your hardware can keep up with the speed, you'll be insanely happy with this drive.
