Strong plastic smell. I put it in my snake tank and opened it the next day and that was all I could feel there, I felt so sorry for her. I've waited a few extra days with her outside the tank to see if she would lose her smell but so far it hasn't. Maybe I'm just being picky, but this doesn't seem like a safe environment for reptiles. plastic and so I decided to give it another try. The smell is gone and my snake just loves it! Underneath is a great little spot for her to hide in and a little hole for her to stick her head out of which is downright adorable. You may have to wait a while for the smell to dissipate, but once it's gone it's a fantastic thing.
