Excellent radios. Use for industrial maintenance, engineering/surveying and personal use. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on radios as they tend to fail in the harsh environment we work in. Ideal for programming private channels and listening to our customers' frequencies/channels for security and communications alerts. It is a lightweight device and can be easily carried around throughout the day. I bought a whip antenna for it. I highly recommend these if you are working or mobile to avoid damaging the antenna mount. Also, do not try to program the device manually. Purchase a USB programming cable and download CHIRP from the manufacturer. It took me 5 minutes to learn the program. Now I have our private channels and I have saved the frequencies of all our customers' safe frequencies. CHIRP can also make all your radios the same for consistency. The dual band feature is great as we can monitor customer feeds while we're at home. We started with 2 radios, bought 2 more and now I'm looking for 4 more radios.
