Review on ๐Ÿ’ง Samsung DA82-01415A A/S Assy-Water Leakage: Ultimate Solution for Preventing Water Leakage Issues by John Bennett

A simple solution to the problem of water leakage under the chip on some Samsung Refers models.

Love this kit and FYI I've had no problems with my Samsung RF18 fridge but I've read many reports of water getting under the vegetable cutter after a year or two. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It turns out that during the defrost cycle, the condensate around the fan and coils in the reference flows into the sump, causing the water under the unit to go into the sump and evaporate. The drip tray in the refrigerator is too far from the heat source and never defrosts, so water collects and eventually leaks under the refrigerator. This kit contains new parts that correct this problem. There are two redesigned drip tubes, plus a clamp on the aluminum section that clamps the defrost element and conducts heat into the drain pan outlet tube, eliminating the frozen water plug. The repair takes 15 minutes. You remove the fan cover in the refrigerator, cut off the old short heating coil clamp and replace it with a longer one that fits the drip tray drain, and reinstall the drip tubes behind the rear grille. Easy as pie and no more water in the fridge. The revised new clamp is a piece of aluminum that is about 4 times longer than the original and protects the drain pipe from frozen water. The drain pipes have been modified to also route warmer air from the condenser fan under the fridge to enter the drip lines to prevent condensation and water build-up. These parts solve the problem of water in the refrigerator.
