I bought a size 8 for my daughter who is 7 but wears a size 8/10. I didn't wash it before she wore it for family photos, which I'm grateful for now because THIS THING CHANGES. She was pretty tight at first, but since it was for one night I didn't care. It was difficult to close the buttons on the back because of the tightness. I washed it after wearing it the first time and it was noticeably smaller the next time. The second time I washed it I pulled it out of the dryer and found it was about a size 4 now. Just to confirm, I put it on my 4 year old daughter and it fit almost perfectly. For reference, my 7 year old is in the middle and my 4 year old is on the left. LARGE SHRINKAGE. But a very nice start.
