Review on Converter Adapter Monitor Supports Display by Chris Meers

Certainly bought to connect it to the TV via HDMI. I was going to use a spare USB power adapter to connect the included USB cable, but instead I found I could use the PS2's USB port. As an added benefit, my HDMI connects to an automatic splitter that also has Wii and Blu-ray connected to it. When I turn on my PS2 using the power button on the front, the USB ports power up this HDMI adapter and therefore cause my HDMI auto splitter to switch to the appropriate input. Not sure if using a power adapter would have resulted in the same process, but now I also don't unnecessarily power the HDMI adapter unless I'm using a PS2, which is almost never used. Image quality is good. Who uses PS2 for picture quality. I think it looks the same or the same as before, but I'll let the other reviewers debate that. It's a win for me if it keeps working.
