This is a great entry-level shoe. At first my daughter didn't like them because she wasn't used to ankle boots, but after the usual new clothes breakdown she decided she loved them and wanted to wear them all the time. She is of average build and wears them with regular cotton socks and leggings. As mentioned above, she is very picky about choosing things, so I was very happy when she decided to include her in her life :) She is definitely a size 11, and size 11 fits her perfectly. Will buy another pair when she outgrows these. She wore them to school in the Northwest winter and said they were warm when she played outside on a 48-degree day, surprising farmers. Fairy is also easily angered.
