Review on Dell UltraSharp 2209WA Black Widescreen Monitor - Enhanced for Wide Screen Experience by Danny Lasser

The main seller (third party) sent the monitor in a very timely manner. Good service. Everything has arrived in good condition. I am very happy with the monitor - the color is great for photos. I got very frustrated using it with other programs and ended up calling Dell support. I didn't realize that you really need to work on the resolution and change it for other programs you use like Excel and Mail and Word and whatnot. I even ended up changing some of the font and font size so the text isn't blurry. I'm not sure yet if I've done my best to maintain the correct resolution for every program I use. I install it the way I like it and then I close the program and when I open it again it defaults to a permission I don't want. I even changed the windows display settings which helped get a more reasonable screen size. I like the way the monitor and stand look. The stand is sturdy enough to rotate so someone else can easily see the screen. I don't know much about calibration and was wondering if this is only for color matching or if it stabilizes the resolution for all programs. After speaking to Dell (and they were very helpful and very patient) they informed me that all the monitors with different pixel counts have the same situation and the resolution still needs to be adjusted for different programs. Overall I'm happy with the product and have learned some of the setup requirements. If anyone reading this review has any suggestions for a solution, please email me. Thanks.
