I didn't realize this when I ordered it but after hours of not getting it to work with my LG 27UK850 monitor (the has a Displayport over USB-C connection) and Blackmagic eGPU Pro, I checked the Belkin packaging and found that Displayport (over USB-C) is not supported. So I suspect it might work if you want to use it for a Thunderbolt 3 storage drive or LG Ultrafine Display (which I assume uses a Thunderbolt 3 connection) but didn't work in my app. Note that USB-C refers to the PHYSICAL design of the connection, but whether the cable AND/OR connection supports Displayport, Power Delivery (PD), Thunderbolt 3, USB 2.0 AND/OR USB 3.1 is another story. Confusing? Yes! As it stands, this particular cable only supports Thunderbolt 3, PD up to 100W, and only USB 2.0.
