Media could not be loaded. I bought the Grangers Wash + Repel Down 2in1 set to wash the REI down jacket I got during their winter sale. Down jackets are not cheap and you want to keep yours for as long as possible. It is not recommended to use regular down detergent as it will stick the feathers together and it is recommended to use dryer balls to fluff the down. For those reasons, I bought this kit because it was soft and came with the dryer balls that were offered. A bonus was the water repellency which would have helped keep the existing coating on my jacket. The advantages are that it works like soap and I can wash my jackets with it. There are enough dry balls and they seem to fluff up my jacket well. On the other hand, it's very expensive for a very small 10 ounce bottle of soap and 3 plastic scoops. For this price I get a few liters of normal liquid detergent. Another downside that isn't immediately apparent is the note on the back that top-loading machines double the amount of soap used. So if you have a top loading washing machine, which most of us have, expect to use 4 caps or 200ml to wash just one jacket! And the bottle is only 300 ml! I can't believe this product. It's better to risk the jacket with a heavily diluted regular soap and dry it with a couple of tennis balls than to spend $15+ on each wash.
