This smartphone holder stays where you put it. I had a really cheap retainer that fell out of the vent at the worst possible times. At first I thought the price was a bit high compared to what I paid for the cheap one, but based on the reviews I decided to give it a try. It holds so tight I'm not afraid of it ever falling out of the vent. I use it all the time so I don't have to hold my phone on my lap while driving. I never use my phone while driving but now it's in a safe place and I won't forget it and it won't fall off the seat. My husband loved it so much I bought him one. I saw what turned out to be fake at a local store for a lower price but it wasn't the same. On this Aduro model you can unscrew the part that holds the phone if needed and I don't have to remove the vent clip. The fake didn't have that option, so it wasn't the same. I would consider buying one as a last minute gift to have on hand if you are invited somewhere and need to bring something for a gift. It costs money and I'm more of a stingy person who doesn't like to spend a lot.
