Review on πŸ” Optimized FRAM Oil Filter, CH6096 for Honda Motorcycle/ATV Models by Eliot Wahl

The Best Oil Filter for my Polaris Side by Side

starts with a W and my cap found an oil leak. I had an old Fram o-ring that I kept (I know you say why?). I'll keep the old O-rings just in case. I'm glad I did in this case so I reinstalled the used Fram o-ring on the cap and the leak stopped. In my car I mainly use fram filters, side by side and a kubota mower. Regardless of what you read or hear about Fram on YouTube, they are a very high quality filter. My jeep has done 266,000 miles and has nothing but a fram and has never had an engine problem. It's not so much about the filter as it is about changing the oil on time or sooner rather than later. I saw a brand new W brand fuel filter that wouldn't work on a Ford 6.0 because the filter is too narrow. Yes there is such a thing as a filter that is too good, I'm talking microns that actually restrict fuel or oil flow. So be careful when you write off the Fram filter because someone will tell you it's not the best and doesn't equal the best. When the oil filter's micron rating is too high, it restricts oil flow, and guess what happens when you find an engine is starved of oil, you can tell it's clogged. You can't go wrong with Fram filters and I've never had a leak from the included lid o-ring.

Pros
  • A special blend of fibers and resin creates a proprietary filter media that captures 95% of the dirt particles that can cause harmful engine wear
Cons
  • Vulgarity
