Review on RECHERE Stainless Bracelet Interlock Safety by Mario Beckwith

Comfortable and secure strap that looks good on thicker watches.

I ordered a 22mm Rechere mesh stainless steel bracelet and it fitted perfectly with the 22mm lugs on my old Casio dive watch. The watch was "kicked out of the drawer" after the strap broke a few years ago and I still haven't bothered to replace it. This inexpensive strap was the perfect replacement for the standard rubber strap that originally came with the watch. I have no cons to mention, even though I paid more for this great value belt replacement that came with a set of spring bars. Even at twice the price, the Rechere Mesh stainless steel bracelet is a bargain. There are a few things worth noting: 1) A small tool that looks like a spring pin puller will come in handy when sizing the watch. small screwdriver. would work too. You will need a little force to loosen and lock the side of the clasp that allows you to adjust the size. I believe the square holes on the clasp are for easier prying. 2) When I first tried it on it came off very easily and the safety catch didn't seem to help. Finally, it was my fault for not closing the clasp properly before folding the secondary safety clasp. If the safety clasp itself seems loose, the main clasp is probably not properly secured. You may need to re-attach the clasp a few times until it's on your wrist to get used to it. The clasp, when properly fastened, is very secure and should not feel loose in any way. 3) The strap is 2.5mm thick which would look out of place on a thin watch. As others have said, this is more of a sharknet than a Milanese band. I originally considered a thicker strap (3mm) because I was concerned that the strap would look too thin on a thick dive watch. That didn't happen either.4) This mesh band is very comfortable to wear in my opinion. It's relatively light, flexible, has no sharp edges, and doesn't appear to tug on your hair. I hardly notice the presence of the bracelet compared to the heavier link wristwatches I usually wear. 5) I've always loved designs with a lockable closure, be it a folding clasp or a button release, and this strap has it. 6) The design quality is pretty solid.
