On the first pair I was able to connect to the TV from my laptop with good quality, unfortunately after a couple of times the HDMI connector started to loosen causing it to keep disconnecting. To reconnect, you must disconnect and reconnect. And no, it wasn't due to the graphics card driver or the size of the TV, which might have a different resolution than the laptop screen.
