Full Disclosure: My original sensor lasted 30 years and was mounted about 17 feet off the ground. I installed this sensor in the same spot, well above the recommended height of 6-10 feet. Sensitivity to max. The sensor detects motion "over" at a distance of 12 to 45 feet. Movement towards or away from the sensor is only detected sporadically. For example, if I leave the garage and turn the car around, the sensor recognizes this. It doesn't happen when I drive straight to the shop. I found the recommended "trial" mode for setup to be very inconsistent and frustrating. I decided to cover the photocell with tape (the "old school" method) and set the time to one minute. It takes longer but gives reliable results. This should be a "one time" installation. The manual override works as intended. Mounting at the recommended height will likely improve performance. Overall, this product works as intended.
