No instructions so maybe I should decline, if I could I would give 4.5. But it's pretty obvious with the on/off button and the sensitivity, and the fact of the matter is that it worked well and that was the most important thing for me. After installing the cooler on wheels, I used it to test propane connections. Gaining sensitivity just below the annoying squeak in the ambient air, then wandering my head through the pipe fittings, I heard no squeak, not even the slightest increase in tick rate (reminds me of a Geiger counter). To make sure it was really working I put it next to the stove, blew out the burner and after a few seconds it started squeaking loudly.
