I was pleasantly surprised at how well built this umbrella is. The ribs are effective: there are 9 of them, which provides additional wind resistance. In addition, there is a double canopy that lets the wind through and increases wind resistance. The star among them is the shaft: it's so thick I thought it was part of a bike. I tried the umbrella out here in New York and was surprised at how well it held up to the weather. Simply impressive.
