Contrary to the description, these hooks are not suitable for storing a kayak. The hooks just aren't wide enough and the support arm that protrudes 90 degrees outwards digs into the side of the kayak due to the pressure of the kayak resting on top of the support arm. I have a 12ft 70lb kayak that I have hung on these hooks and even put scraps of carpet between the hooks and the kayak. The next morning the side of the kayak was dented in both places where it was on the hooks. It might have worked if the 90 degree support arms were 15-20 degrees to reduce the weight of the kayak and the pressure point where it hits the support arms. 3 stars for durability and softness. They are great for a kayak, surfboard, or any of a thousand other uses, but not for storing kayaks. I would recommend the seller to remove the kayak storage link in the description so others don't make the same mistake I did.
