If they were wide enough I would say they would be comfortable excellent shoes. I suddenly have wide feet in my life, now I always have to take 4E in width. Should be an easy fix, get wider, problem solved. Seems like shoe companies don't make extra wide shoes that are wide enough. All big brands have issues and Asics is no exception. I find most Extra Wides 4Es have plenty of room in the front and back. That's usually fine, it's the midfoot where I struggle to find a model that doesn't pinch too much or cut too hard under my foot. They don't seem to widen the midfoot that much at all. The same goes for the Asics GT 2000-9.
