👟 ASICS Gel-Kayano 28 Men's Running Shoes Review

I've had every generation of Kayano for 20 years and they've all been fantastic. Last winter I lowered the price and ordered the ASICS 1000 and it was a big mistake. When it comes to shoes, you get what you pay for. The $160 price 100% justifies the quality and convenience.

I love Asics shoes and especially the running shoes they don't make anymore. I tried the Kayano 28 and found it very comfortable with tons of cushioning in the heel and outsole. I find them a bit small, but maybe that's just me. I can buy a second pair while they are still available.

Kayano working gel from size 20 until now and always wore size 13 now I had to order size 14 to fit properly. Also, the heel cup and arch are no longer plastic, and the duo-foam soles are gone. Just not as comfortable or adequate as previous versions. I sent them back and ordered another pair of v26s.

I ordered these for my new work shoes as they were described as putting more stress on certain parts of my feet. I ordered half a size up because that's how I usually order my athletic shoes. Today I wore them for the first time around 9 o'clock. My feet felt great all day and ordering a half size helped, at least towards the end of my shift. I felt like I was walking on a good cushion all day. Excellent quality and I hope they last at least six months.

I hesitated a bit based on the reviews and finally pulled the trigger. I'm glad I did because these shoes are absolutely not too wide. I've bought all of the Gel Kayano models except for the 27's. These 28s seem very soft at first. That scared me a bit at first, as I quickly began to doubt the associated stability. If they were wide enough I would say they would be comfortable excellent shoes. I suddenly have wide feet in my life, now I always have to take 4E in width. Should be an easy fix, get wider, problem solved. Seems like shoe companies don't make extra wide shoes that are wide enough. All big brands have issues and Asics is no exception.
