Review on πŸ“Έ Enhance Your Photography: EMART 400W 5500K Umbrella Lighting Kit for Studio-quality Shots by Alex Mitra

The included bulbs are virtually useless but easy to retrofit

I found the included CFL bulbs almost useless for a number of reasons: I didn't get to the point. Combined with the (inevitable, yes, but be aware!) attenuation from the shade itself, and the effective light output being closer to that of a single 9-watt BR30 fixture, this isn't enough to effectively light a person illuminate.* Even useless light means walking behind umbrellas is blinding as you're suddenly exposed to a bare bulb. Note, however, that they take a good 5 minutes, maybe closer to 10, to reach full brightness. No problem when taking photos, because you can't switch them off, but you can't set them up in a jiffy either. *I can't speak to the accuracy of the 5500K color temperature. , but be aware that it *seems* very cold and hard, at least to me. Maybe it's just a matter of personal preference and what I use them for and some will be fine, but if you refrain from using regular household bulbs for lighting you'll be shocked - most of them are 2700-3300K. Luckily I was able to solve these problems by replacing the included light bulbs with LED spotlights. I bought a pair of YICOE LED bulbs (https://amazon.com/dp/B0833161P7/) and 1 -> 3 socket adapter (https://amazon.com/gp/product/B07BFN5Y3Z/), there were 2 sockets each adapter with ordinary 9 watt bulbs lying around. With this setup, two umbrellas are bright enough to be the only lighting setup for one or two people playing live music (which is what I use them for). The only problem is that the lamp socket is difficult to support that much weight - it tends to sag unless the handle is *extremely* tightened - but I was able to manage it by lubricating the screw threads. In the future I may experiment with adding a layer of rubber to the pivot point for better grip.
