Suitable for the first time: Lighting and Studio

This is a very well packaged VERY LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASY TO ASSEMBLE PRODUCT ALTHOUGH THE LIGHT AT FIRST TIME HAS THE FEEL AS NOT TURNING INTO THE ACCESSIBLE SPACE. U MUST TURN N MOVE UP AND DOWN TO INSERT IT. GOOD MY DONE. I HAVE THE LIGHT FOR APPROX. TURNED ON FOR 2-3 MINUTES JUST TO TAKE A PICTURE AND SEE THIS LIGHT HEATS UP VERY FAST SO BE CAREFUL IF YOU GET IT IN A HURRY, USE THE OVEN OR LEAVE IT JUST IT WILL GET BETTER.

Replace headlights with Cree 5000k 100w replacement

. Great set, can cost ten times more in store. One of the CFL bulbs didn't work, but I didn't want to wait for them to warm up. I replaced both bulbs with high CRI 5000k Cree bulbs to match my 430EX flash and natural light, and while incandescent produces slightly better skin tones for young children, everything else looks great. Being right in the middle of my Canon's white balance range gives me plenty of room to adjust, just like outside under a diffuser or canopy. In my opinion, umbrellas…

Great price Very portable

I found this set good for travel if you have a tote bag and very good for product photography, especially clothing. However, it's rare to find affordable kits with enough daylight output to get the job done. I prefer to use the Limo Studio 6500K daylight, neutral CFL, 105W lamps shown in the photo: equivalent to 400W. These ULTRA LARGE MAGNUM bulbs fit perfectly and are available on eBay here. Except that the umbrella poles barely touch them. If you have OCD this can be an issue, but I find it…

Good value for money

Current rating: Everything in disposal-friendly boxes, well packaged and functional. Tripods have a good range for medium to high heights, larger than I can fit in my home office. The two white screens were very effective in creating even lighting for use with the video background software (Zoom) I use. Must look for some clamp. However, to keep them in place in the future, the glider is unlikely to slide on its own when the angle is close to horizontal. If it wasn't for the bad thumbscrews I…

More than what you pay!

While this product is good value for money, I am concerned about the overall design. Arrived on time and in the packaging marked as 'Fragile', everything inside was well packed and undamaged. CFLs have a color temperature of 5500K, which matches the daylight spectrum and produces a pure blue-white hue. The bulbs draw 43 watts each, which equates to 110 watts of incandescent lumens. In addition, CFLs take a few seconds to reach full brightness and even longer in colder conditions as you charge…

The included bulbs are virtually useless but easy to retrofit

I found the included CFL bulbs almost useless for a number of reasons: I didn't get to the point. Combined with the (inevitable, yes, but be aware!) attenuation from the shade itself, and the effective light output being closer to that of a single 9-watt BR30 fixture, this isn't enough to effectively light a person illuminate.* Even useless light means walking behind umbrellas is blinding as you're suddenly exposed to a bare bulb. Note, however, that they take a good 5 minutes, maybe closer to…
