I already have several of these tripods because I can put them in my travel bag and use them often. All I need is a large rock or tree stump to mount them on and they hold my Canon cameras with no problem as long as they aren't too heavy like my Rebel. Just don't overtighten the screw. I had broken off one of these and part of the screw is still stuck in my chamber. My husband has a lot of tools at the shop so he was able to remove that part of the screw for me. I lost one of my tripods somewhere in the woods so I have a few on hand now. I always have a camera with me when I go camping and I always take one of these tripods with me.
