Review on πŸ“· Kodak Easyshare Z8612IS: 8.1 MP Digital Camera with 12x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom - Capture Stunning Photos with Ease by Angel Larson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent camera for the price

Personal benefits: 1) Great shots in the right light 2) Amazing zoom! I took pictures with ISO settings from about 100 meters away at a concert and they came out sharp. 3) Lightweight and portable. 4) Image stabilization works beautifully. Of the 400 shots taken outside of the city, only two turned out to be blurry. 5) The button makes it easy to retract and reopen the flash. Personal Cons: 1) Indoor shots can sometimes be dark, even with flash. The old camera didn't have this problem. My friend says his old Easyshare model is the same. Switching to the ISO setting helps a lot if you're not close to the subject then it can sometimes get too bright. I didn't quite understand that part. 2) It takes .mov videos that I need to convert before I can edit or even play them in Windows Movie Maker. 3) It's a bit slower than I'm used to. Especially if you're trying to switch from "photo" to "video" (make sure you don't switch the path that takes you through the panorama setting or you'll wait a whole minute for it to catch up ). Overall this is a great camera for the price, I'm just a little picky about the things I want. Some people might not be as picky as I am. lolOh, and let me mention that I bought mine refurbished and it really is like new. :) It came with all accessories and manual. Always check what's included before buying a refurbished camera so you don't run out of straps, caps and booklets.
