I bought this chair for use in my studio/office. I wanted a chair that I can use at my desk and at my easel where I need more height. It was easy to assemble. The seat cushion is a lot stiffer than I would like, but I can imagine it softening over time if I use it long enough. I'm just not sure I will as I can't stand the squeaky sound every time I sit down or shift my weight. I'm not a big person. I tried tightening the screws, nothing helped. If it wasn't for the creaking I would have put it higher.
