This flapper is great for sewing. This makes the creases very crisp and also reduces possible burns on my fingers. I quickly press the edge with an iron and then sew the flap onto it. In just a second or two, the fabric cools and can be manipulated. I also like an additional feature of this model - a small pillow for needles. No more loose pins. The Cottage Lane Hardwood Beater is well made. I also appreciate the ruler on the side. It helps with all my sewing needs at home.
