The application displays data from two monitors; Monitors must remain plugged in

This TEMTOP M10i WIFI AIR QUALITY MONITOR (for PM2.5 TVOC AQI HCHO; real-time data recording) works well and seems accurate enough for my purposes. When I opened a bottle of nail polish in the next room, the HCHO (formaldehyde) and TVOC (total volatile organic compounds) levels skyrocketed. They returned to more normal levels within a few hours. In fact, I liked this device so much that I bought another to monitor air quality both upstairs and downstairs in my house. Initially, I had trouble getting the app to recognize the second device and connect to my home network. However, the app CAN show two Wi-Fi devices. Once set up, the devices display separate real-time readings and maintain independent data histories. (See my photos - one has been slightly enhanced to make the Air Quality and Air Quality 2 unit numbers and names easier to read.) CONNECTION TIPS. as follows: (1) your phone or tablet (with the App) must be connected to a 2.4 GHz network; (2) the temtop monitor needs to be reset with a paperclip so that when connected to your home network you will see a wireless "up" signal (and not just a blinking wireless signal); and (3) any other Temptop monitoring device already connected to the network must be disabled when a new device is connected. I'm not sure if step 3 is required, but my second device will NOT connect to my network while I have the first device powered off. After connecting your Temtop devices, you can reconnect your phone or tablet to the faster 5GHz band and the Temtop app will continue to work. AIR QUALITY HISTORY TIPS: First, air quality history appears in the app when you click on an area. shows the real-time readings. Second, if you try to open your history and see "No Data," you may need to (1) cycle your device and/or (2) log out of the app and log back in. It's clear that it would be nice if the app were less "brazen", but the air quality monitors seem quite responsive to changes. For example, my monitor upstairs shows consistently higher TVOC because more shampoos, Lysol sprays, etc. are used regularly upstairs. When the aerosol is airborne, it takes several hours to evaporate. Also, it would be nice if the app could be configured to display the local temperature in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius. However, this is a play on words. I haven't had either of my devices very long so they may stop working prematurely (as other reviewers have reported). However, so far I'm happy with them, especially with the live and historical data available through the app. You can use the app to set your device to record data at specific intervals, starting every 10 minutes. I have to keep my devices connected to the network all the time because the battery drains very quickly. The battery doesn't even come close to lasting the promised 6 hours.

Pros
  • GENERAL INFO: Large, clear readings with 3-color LEDs instantly determine air quality wherever you look.
