I ordered a metal band for my Fitbit. When it arrived there were (poorly written) instructions on how to remove the links to make it fit. I found it interesting that they provided a multi-part tool with three different "bits" required to remove links. I soon understood why they provided three. you bend. And finally collapse. Do nothing for the group. In some other reviews I noticed that the vendor provided an email address for help/support. I sent you an email. Twice. No Answer. I threw it in the trash. At least only a few dollars were spent. I noticed that the supplier offers a lot of different straps, including some that don't require adjustment (mesh or anything else). Maybe that's good. My review is specific to one metal band I have experience with.
