My old gasket was discolored and starting to fall apart. I replaced it with one of these, my Moka Express is working fine again. I haven't changed the metal filter yet because the old one was still in good condition. It is suitable for small moka pots. Not a tiny pot (labeled 1taza by Bialetti), but a very normal sized pot with the very confusing name "3 cups". The actual amount of coffee you brew by filling the bottom of the jar with water up to the safety valve is 3/4 scoop (6 fl oz). This makes three servings better in my opinion (although I usually drink one at a time myself - I think you can split it between two people if you're sensitive).
