First of all, these types of table lighting stands are a fantastic item for my photography site which I always travel to. Instead of lugging around heavy and clunky light stands, I can take a few of these stands with me - install them on any flat surface (table, door, shelf) and place the light in a convenient place without getting in the way. This works particularly well when shooting in hotel rooms where the room is very small most of the time and there isn't much room for equipment. I really like that they can be disassembled - so they're even easier to pack and that they're mostly metal (to support the weight of my lights and mods).
