I bought this unit for my parents in an old house in southern Alabama because I don't spend much time there other than maintenance and mowing the lawn. But I tried it out at my home in Jacksonville, Florida to see how well it worked. The device has a large reservoir and it filled it up within 4 hours of turning it on. Automatically turned off when full and restarted once the bucket was reset. It worked perfectly for two weeks, and then I turned it off and went to Alabama. Installed it on my kitchen counter and installed a continuous drain hose and it worked with no leaks from the hose fitting. I left it on when I left and will check tomorrow (2 weeks). Then I will update my findings. For now the device is working as advertised but I was still shocked at how much water was being taken out of my house. Very happy with the performance. Note. A few months ago I bought a smaller unit for my RV and it really makes a difference. I drained it in my kitchen sink and it filled a 35 gallon gray tank in 4 months. Luckily I checked the level before it overflowed.
