in that sense that I can go a month between print jobs and the ink in these things seems to be drying. If you print as infrequently as I do, consider a laser toner printer rather than an inkjet printer. That being said, getting an MFP is the cheaper route. Just plan this model and ink. will be unavailable after 3 years, after that you will get another inkjet printer. If you can meet those expectations, there's no need to worry and less frustration with these "disposable inkjet" printers. Getting the ink in a multipack is slightly cheaper than ordering separately: HP 64 Black and Tri-color Original Ink Cartridges 2 cartridges (X4D92AN). There are also black and colored XL cartridge versions. Using chip technology, HP blocks the use of third-party inks. Keep this in mind when ordering as you will no longer be able to use regular eBay inks in the future. without many problems. For example, for my last HP I had to buy two full ink cartridges from HP, then I was able to trick the system (which went a long way) to trick it into using the cheaper generic cartridge. The same applies here. You can save even more ink by using the refill process on the printer's job screen. This ease of ordering is a nice feature of this printer. Note, however, that a subscription is required. Therefore, you need to keep a close eye on usage and order frequency to avoid accidentally over-ordering. This is a problem for me as I print so infrequently that auto-ordering can potentially be costly, especially when I want the ink to be "full" but it's drying up on me and therefore logging in as time to re-order. Android Home and printing to the printer was pretty easy. Even using HP's own app wasn't as painful as other proprietary apps can sometimes be. Glory to HP! We use a copier/scanner to copy material for our students and it works great. It's not that hard to align a book/paper with glass and get a usable copy out of it. I tested the scan and it's pretty quick and clear. I like it. The printer occupies quite a small footprint overall, so it doesn't take up much space on the desk (approx. 18 x 16 x 7 cm (W x D x H) with the lid closed). I really like duplex printing. , which is probably the source of much of this printer's cost. A great way to save paper and sometimes you just need to print something front to back. The printer, like many others, is not the quietest device. especially with duplex printing. But we've gotten used to it over the years, so it's okay. All in all, a good printer will determine at this time if it has any problems before the one-year warranty expires. It's worth trying.
