Lots of great features besides the sound quality.

First of all, I just want to say that buying headphones online is a very difficult task. Mainly due to the fact that the sound quality is very subjective and depends a lot on each person's music taste. That being said, I've bought a lot of headphones over the years. I treat headphones the way my wife treats her shoe collection, you can never have enough of them! Just because headphones are cheap doesn't necessarily mean they're cheap and sound bad. Two of my favorite headphones that I listen to quite often are the meelectronics HT-21 and I also like the Soundbot sb221 (a recently purchased one). A few weeks before Christmas I noticed that my wife was using my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro closed-back headphones to listen to an audio book on her Kindle HD 8. At this point, I thought it would be great to get a pair of closed-back Bluetooth headphones. Rear headphones for my wife so she isn't tethered to her tablet. Of course, it was also another reason for me to try out new headphones. So I went online to look at reviews and the one that kept getting positive reviews was the Photive BTH3. I currently have a Photive Bluetooth speaker which, while the bass isn't great, is still a good little portable speaker. Needless to say I really wanted to like these headphones but the sound quality was a complete turn off. There is a high rolloff starting at around 3k which dampens the sound. I tried EQ but it ended up sounding very harsh and tinny. I'm not a basshead, but the lows were well represented. Please note that I am comparing these to Meelectronics and Sound Bot Flat EQ headphones, not the expensive Sennheiser headphones I mentioned earlier. The only other downside was the sound leakage. People have mentioned this issue in online reviews and once again this is another subjective issue. However, when I tested it on my wife, she quickly became angry. When I checked the volume, I noticed that it was only around 50%. Everything else you read online about these banks is true. Build quality seems decent, they're relatively comfortable, they look really cool, and they connect to my Motorola G5 Plus phone almost instantly. I am very disappointed that it did not work out and have already started the return process.
