Bumblebee's Wax and Oil

I would deduct a star for labeling this product as beeswax. However, the addition of vegetable oils is good. I've used a combination of wax and usually linseed oil on my chopping boards, chopping boards etc and it's worked great for decades. Rubbing instead of brushing, I like 0000 steel wool or fiber applicator. Rubbing also allows me to work in circular motions rather than strokes. Bumblewood helps a little. I did the entire first layer (the biggest because bare wood is thirsty) with just the part that was glued to the inner lid. I let it dry during the day (I live in the desert) and applied a lighter coat late on the second day. Two more days later I applied another light coat which should be enough for large areas. Over time, the final texture will require many more layers. It took my meat block counter twelve in a few months to get what I want. The important thing is that I'm in control. In most cases, a few layers are sufficient and can be updated if necessary. The results look great too, more of a warm glow than a glossy one.

Pros
  • PROTECTS YOUR WOOD BY FORMING AN INVISIBLE THIN LAYER.
Cons
  • Big and chunky
