I grew up in a time when liquid pine tar was applied to a rag and rubbed with it. Sure, it was effective, but impractical to carry around in a baseball bag. Eventually companies started making stick shaped racket grips and they worked well but since I came across the Tiger Stick for the last 8-10 years I've been using it exclusively. The stick from this lasts a long time and has never lost its stickiness (yes you will have to reapply the stick but I mean for the life of the stick itself) and it has never melted or fallen apart on me.
