Review on 🧩 Versatile and Fun Interlocking Foam Tile Play Shapes by Jay Arnold

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am impressed. A strong and very versatile game.

I bought this for a two year old who loves shapes and a three and a half year old who loves puzzles and they both love it. It's not as big as some foam mat sets, so I'd recommend something else if your main focus is covering the play area. But it's incredible in so many ways. The removable molds are big enough so that while you won't use them with a chewing baby (pieces of Styrofoam = choking hazard), they won't fit in the mouth on their own. (See image for comparison of a 3 year old hand holding shapes.) Foam tiles are strong enough to create 3D cubes/rectangular prisms even if you remove the inner shapes, giving your game more dimension. Since they are 1/4 the size of most foam tiles I've seen, losing a few internal shapes or tearing a few tiles won't shrink your set much. Then you can play patterns with all the different colors and match them with your kids. I am really impressed. The only downside I noticed is that it doesn't tie into the set of large tiles I had.
