Review on πŸ”‹ Tenergy Premium PRO Rechargeable AAA Batteries: High Capacity 1100mAh NiMH, 24 Pack by Jason Whitaker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price at first sight

Im impressed with what you get for the money. I just bought four AA batteries and ran two charge-discharge-charge cycles on my smart charger, measuring the capacity as it discharged. In the second cycle, everything turned out to be more than 2700 mAh, a little less than advertised. Though I'm not complaining; a few more break-in cycles and they might well hit 2800. Even if they're hovering around 2750 as they are now, that's more than I've seen anywhere else in Ni-Mh AA and at this price point that's impressive. . All elements also have a very low internal resistance of less than 50 ohms. They are slightly larger than typical AA alkaline cells, so fitting may be an issue on some devices. I haven't had any problems yet. They're rated for 1200 cycles, which is great for this capacity; Time will tell their durability. I'll save them by charging them at 500mA and I'll be surprised if they don't last a few years given my usage pattern (discharging and charging every other day - I'll be using them in a small fan to blow my shower accelerate drying to avoid mold). My limited experience with other Tenergy NiMH cells leads me to expect a decent lifespan from them. One note is that they probably don't have a low self-discharge rate. They aren't advertised as such, so I won't be scolding them for that. Just remember that they are best used on devices that are used frequently. In this case, you will definitely save money compared to alkaline ones. You may need another option for an emergency flashlight or radio that you forget about a year in advance.
