Rugged 24 " low profile stud mount

We bought this for our living room where we have 24" studs on the wall where we mount the TV. A few years ago we hung a TV on the wall in the bedroom, we had little experience with that. This was a shorter bracket for 16" cleats, so for the first time we made a longer bracket with two parts that bolt together. I was a little apprehensive about this but they specifically state that it has been stress tested and feels solid once screwed. I was expecting there would be nuts on the other side of the bolts which weren't there and it seems they aren't needed. The bolts pull both pieces together very tightly so it seems this is one solid piece . Brackets, or whatever they are called. Parts that attach to the back of the TV. The kit includes several screws of different sizes to attach the brackets to the TV, three different thicknesses each with a long and short version. We need to use the thickest screws for our TV. I measured the depth of the screw holes on the back of our TV and found that the short screws are too short and the long screws are too long. Spacers are included but this requires two of the long spacers and I wanted it to be as close to the wall as possible. I pulled out the large pack of screws that came with our bedroom wall mount, in case it had medium length screws and the right gauge. and it happened! How fortunate! So I cut open this bag of screws and found that one of them was thinner than the others. unfortunately a manufacturing error. How earthy! It was a night when the hardware store was closed and I didn't want to just quit, so I ended up using spacers. I placed one against the TV and the other on the opposite end of the screw. It seemed like a fair compromise. With our 60 inch TV we had about 6 inches of vertical clearance where the brackets could be installed. I used the top armhole so we have 6 inches to lower it if needed. I attached both brackets and then measured from the top of the TV to where the brackets hook into the wall mount. I then measured the distance from where the bracket attaches to the wall mount to the top hole of the wall mount. From there I did calculations to see where the top wall mount hole should be as opposed to the top of the TV. I marked this spot on my tape measure, then stretched the tape to the full height of the TV and we held it against the wall to determine exactly how high we wanted the TV to be. Once we had space, I marked the screw hole on the wall with the mark I made on the tape measure. Package). I glued this to the wall, marked the rest of the holes and drilled pilot holes. From there it was pretty easy to install a real wall mount and drill through the screws. The screws have both a hex and a Phillips head, so you can use either to screw in. I didn't want to risk slipping, I used a hex bit and had no problems. Once on, he looked hard as stone. I put a lot of weight on it and it wouldn't budge, so we lifted the TV and mounted it on the bracket. There are spring-loaded hooks on the underside of the arms, which we've heard connect as soon as we tighten them. Spring loaded hooks have a rope at the end with a metal bail that can be pulled to release the hook. This is to remove the TV from the mount so we didn't have to use it. The TV was raised first, but the instructions state that to adjust the tilt, the screws on the side need to be loosened. These screws have a metal rod that goes through them that you use to turn, rather than a screwdriver that would be very difficult to put back in. It's convenient, but alas, there's nothing stopping you from turning it too far and unscrewing the screw all the way. yes it happened I screwed it back in, but it wasn't fun. You really must have something that doesn't allow him to completely unscrew. Anyway, we adjusted the incline and re-tightened it. Overall the process wasn't too bad and the TV looks a lot better when it's mounted on the wall rather than on top of our stereo cabinet. TV instead of using the top hole of the brackets. This gave us the option to lower the TV about six inches if we wanted to, but it doesn't allow us to raise it any higher. If I had the brackets centered we could raise or lower the TV about three inches which would be a lot more comfortable. We are happy with this mount. It feels very solid and I liked how easy it is to install and how it's fairly flat, which keeps the TV close to the wall while still allowing for tilt adjustment. I suspect the next step would be to install one of those outlet/low voltage wall feedthrough kits to hide the wires, but I'll save that for another day. I hope my review was helpful to you, please let me know in the comments. if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement. Thanks very much!
